Operational Excellence Fundamentals
OpEx Philosophy & Principles
The foundation of Operational Excellence — how value, flow, and respect for people drive continuous improvement.
This course introduces the core philosophy behind every Operational Excellence method. You'll learn the five Lean principles — value, value stream, flow, pull, and the pursuit of perfection — and the thinking that connects them. Tracing Lean back to its origins in the Toyota Production System, the course shows how Lean thinking differs from traditional batch-and-queue operations, and why "respect for people" is what sustains improvement long after the tools are deployed. By the end, you'll understand not just what OpEx tools do, but why they work — the conceptual foundation the rest of the curriculum builds on.
